In 1961, arrives in Barcelona as Art Director of Geigy S.A.
In 1968, founds his own design studio.
From 1975 to 1988, partnership with André Ricard, industrial designer. Diseño Integral is established.
1989, establishment of Zimmermann Asociados, S.L.
In 1995, receives the National Design Award granted by the Fundación BCD and the Ministry of Industry and Energy.
Has been a professor at the Elisava and Eina design schools in Barcelona and has been invited as a guest lecturer at various European and American universities.
Is the director of the GG Diseño book collection at Editorial Gustavo Gili in Barcelona.
Was a finalist in the competition for the single European currency—the Euro—organized by the European Monetary Institute (EMI).
Aster Communication Award 1998-1999.

Coincido plenamente con lo expuesto por Juan Carlos Darias en su artículo con respecto a la necesidad de prescindir en nuestro trabajo como diseñadores del ego, de la egolatría. Pero añadiría que la dominación del ego, del Yo, es un asunto que va más allá que la mera profesión y que debería ejercerse en la cotidianidad, en el encuentro con los demás seres humanos; se trata de un ejercicio diario y en todas las circunstancias.
