Giulio Vinaccia was born in Caracas in 1957 , from Italian parents.After working experiences in South America he moved to Italy in 1985. He started to work with his brother Valerio, and after some time they created their own studio, first in Rome and two years later in Milan.
Giulio Vinaccia works in product design: electronics, sports equipment and lighting . Hi also develop research projects which have been awarded prizes in many design competitions such as "Plastic for Tomorrow" (Neste Oy - Finland), Utech Design Competition (Dow Chemicals), "La Ceramica nell’Arredo Urbano (2nd Quadriennale Internazionale - Faenza), INDEX 2005, Torino Geodesign 2008, etc.

He has realized projects for the most important Italian Brands as: Brembo, Ferrari Spa
Piaggio Spa – Momo Design - Ducati – Aprilia - New Max spa – Data Process -Moschino – Borsalino – Belstaff.
From 1994 develops the activity of advisor for development projects through the use of the design as a development tool , collaborating with different organizations and international institutions like :.

UNWTO (World Tourism Organization)
UNIDO (United Nation Industrial Development Program)
ITC ( international Trade Centre)
Working for the government and companies from Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, Colombia, Spain, Sweden, Egypt and Canada in a project strategy " design oriented": from the identification and definition of the cultural heritage to the design of new lines of products, crossing to the creation of commercial brands , graphic systems, visual identification up to the concept of the communicative strategies .

Hola Rachel, no acabo de entender lo que para ti es «pensamiento de diseño», de todas maneras lo que si es claro , es que no hay (afortunadamente) un sola defincion de lo que es diseñ.Creo que cada uno debe «costurarse» su definicion propia encim de sus reales capacidades..Mi socio en muchas aventuras , Ruedi Baur, define el trabajo de diseño como una «actitud» mas que una profesion...

Yo creo que la cosa es muy sencilla: hace 2 decadas cuando yo hacia un proyecto, recibia un brief de muchas paginas, las empresas «sabian» lo que querian..Po ejemplo querian una copa para vino tinto, de tantos ml, para el mercado tal, etc..Ahora la misma empresa me llama y me dice «Giulio, no vendemos mas copas..que hacemos ?» y alli que nuestro trabajo cambiò, de meros consultores «formales» nos hemos vuelto consultores a 360°, trabajamos sobre el producto, el packanging, comunicaciòn, arquitectura de venta , etc.., y para eso no hay que parar de estudiar...y eso no es «barra»..

Creo que la verdadera revolucion hoy dia es echa por la suma de pequeñas acciones positivas, que parten de la base, francamente no creo mas en los conferencias mundiales...
Pero la reflexion on-line es seguramente uno de esas «pequeñas» acciones !
